The New Headingley Club
Welcome to The New Headingley Club, we are a small private club standing in our own expansive grounds with private parking located on St. Michael’s Road in Headingley. The atmosphere is quiet, friendly and non-intimidating, with a comfortable lounge where you can simply enjoy a free daily newspaper, a quiet chat and drink at reasonable prices (quite different from the now typical Headingley bars). In summer members can enjoy the well maintained garden with seating area. Further facilities include a games room with 3 full sized snooker tables, pool table, darts, and sky sports in our seated television area .
In addition we have a large function room which can be booked for private events and meetings.
Membership Applications
are welcome from Long Term Headingley Residents. To join the club, ring the bell and you will be let in by the staff. You can take out a temporary membership there and then (£5), which gives you access to the club until the next committee meeting. Your full membership (and key fob) is given to you at a 10 min proceedure in the next committee meeting. Total membership cost is £11 plus £5 deposit on key fob = £16.
Events and Activities
Jazz Connection
Launched in March 2007 Jazz Connection has established itself as a relaxed and informal night out at the New Headingley Club. Past guests have included Louise Gibbs, Nicki Allan, Don Donnelly, Laura Fowles and Richard Ormrod plus many new talents on the jazz scene.
Tickets at the door are £4.50, or save with a season saver £10.00 (concessions available)
Café Scientific
The Café Scientific group meets monthly with Guest speakers offering lectures on a variety of subjects
Bingo
Bingo is held on alternative Thursday’s to the quiz and is fortnightly.
Quiz Night
Our quiz night is run every second Thursday and kicks off at 8.30pm. For just £1.00 per member (or guest) on the night, the evening will include picture quiz, general knowledge quiz, free raffle entry and a free buffet. Prizes include a quiz night jackpot (currently £320.00), a meal for 4, beer & wine. Come early to get a seat!!
Snooker and Tournaments
We hold three tournaments a year all handicapped played over one frame. There are two Club teams and they play Wednesday evenings starting at around 7.45pm.
Darts & Dominoes
Weekly events on Tuesday evenings starting at 8.30pm – free buffet for team members.
