Two members of ROCK SOLID can now boast of hitting the magical ten year mark, Jeff and Stan have been playing with each other ahhmmm!! for just over ten years now, the first five or so as Angabout, who themselves were carving out quite a good reputation culminating in an appearance at the music@myrtle festival in 1999 in front of a twenty five thousand plus crowd.After some internal squabbles angabout decided to call it a day but Jeff and Stan knew they were just getting into something special and decided to carry on together and move more towards a rock genre so with another bass player and drummer formed ROCK SOLID. The guys kept some Angabout tunes going but also started playing some harder rock stuff as well, this started going down well and in 2001 were asked back to do music@myrtle this time with a crowd nudging thirty thousand. About a year later Dave the bass player was head hunted by grrr!! a bigger band. This left a major gap in the rythm section so Jeff and Stan had to scour the bass playing talent far and wide and just when they were going to have to settle for something a bit less than Dave they went to a jam session in Huddersfield and uncovered what can only be described as an uncut diamond. rough edges but Jeff and Stan began cutting and polishing their new found gem till it became Ade the bass. ROCK SOLID must today be one of the longest serving bands on the cicuit in one guise or another. They ploughed on a few more years trouble free till Mick, the then drummer decided he`d had enough of all the travelling around. The boys battled on with a number of stand in drummers and then once again by accident stumbled upon Paul the present day stick myster general who after a number of years as a pro (drummer!!!) had had a few years break. Just an innocent conversation at a gig and Paul`s number was passed on much to the delight of the guys especially Ade havin to no longer cue the stand in guys (who might I say were some top guys and we would like to pass on our thanks to those guys you know who you are!).Paul came and sat in on a gig for us and did such a fantastic job even with a bit of rust round the edges,( which is now very much blown away). He put in some awesome performances and was offered the job! the rest they say is history well not really because ROCK SOLID is very much in the future going from strength to strength at the moment.
